For the third consecutive year, Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk delivered his state of the city address at JJC.
The address was sponsored by the Business Department and was held in the U-Building Auditorium.
The speech lasted for nearly an hour, with O’Dekirk discussing various aspects of city development and the overall status of the city.
He also answered questions from audience members, and mentioned the imminent development of the fen, a natural area at JJC that environmentalists in the community are trying to protect.
The entire speech can be viewed on the JJC Facebook page.
O’Dekirk’s presence on campus is part of an ongoing effort by the Business Department, JJC and the city of Joliet to raise civic awareness and get students more involved in the community.
