Upcoming events: 4th edition

Hello and welcome back to a wonderful week of classes at JJC! Let’s get right into it with our events coming up this week, provided by the OSA!

Sept. 17: Red Cross Student Leader Training for Blood Drives is Monday from 2 p.m. 4 p.m. in D-1010, also known as the Office of Student Activities. This training is specifically for reps from clubs who agreed to host a drive this year. Someone from the club must attend in order to host the event and earn money.

Sept. 18: Transfer Student Lunch Bunch will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in A-1002. This is for people who are planning to transfer to another college for Bachelor’s degree, you can attend to meet with college recruiters and learn what they have to offer: with free food! The following colleges will be in attendance: Lewis University, Loyola University, North Central College, Columbia College (Chicago), Benedictine College, and University of St. Francis (tentative). 

Sept. 19: there will be HIV Testing (pre-screening required) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in D-1010. There will also be Karaoke on the bridge from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m hosted by OSA and GAC Entertainment. There will be free popcorn!

Also coming out on Sept. 19 is the first issue of Fall 2018 for the Blazer. Papers will be placed in multiple places around the school, or shortly after it’s released check out some of the stories online!

Sept. 20: Leadership Lessons #2 will be held in D-1010. This is the second of a series of six leadership lessons led by JJC staff and faculty. This session specifically will be lead by Sue Kainrath, with her talked titled “What’s in it for me? Motivating people to do what you need them to do.” Student Government will also be holding their meeting from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in A-1002. 

Sept. 21: Gamers Club will be hosting Fun Day Friday in U-2019/21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m..
