Board election results posted

The unofficial results of the Board of Trustees election that occurred April 6 have been released.

James A. Budzinski and Michelle Lee lead for the two six-year term positions. Maureen Flanagan Broderick, who was running unopposed, was elected to finish out the final four years of the term vacated by former trustee Mike O’Connell.

Votes for all 341 precincts were counted. The unofficial results of the contested rate had Budzinski had 22,611 votes with Lee finishing second with 22,608 votes.

They were followed by Camielle Holcombe with 17,599 votes, Karla Franchini-Manzo with 16,055 votes, and Drew D. Duzinskas with 13, 910 votes.

Broderick had 46,874 votes, giving her 100 percent of the total votes.

Current Chairman Robert Wunderlich, who has served for 44 years on the Board of Trustees, did not run for re-election.

Results will remain unofficial until each county clerk or board of election commissioners canvass the votes. The district includes all or part of the following counties: Will, Grundy, Kendall, Lasalle, Kankakee, Livingston, and Cook. This will most likely take until the end of April or early May.

The winners are expected to take their seats at the May meeting of the board.
