Wolves softball hitting it out of the park
The Wolves Women’s Softball team entered Tuesday night’s games against Rockford Community College with a 12-9 record and a three-game winning streak.
They will play their next home game against Prairie State on Friday, April 16, after traveling to Prairie State on April 14.
In their most recent games, the Wolves split a doubleheader at Madison College on April 6, losing the first game 6-2 and winning the second game 5-3.
The Wolves followed that road trip with a doubleheader-sweep of South Suburban College on April 9, taking the first game 9-4 and trouncing South Suburban in the nightcap, 12-2.
The Wolves began their season back on March 9 with a 2-1, 10-inning home win against Elgin Community College. The second game of the doubleheader was rained out.
They then hosted Moraine Valley Community College on March 19 and swept a doubleheader 12-11 and 10-8 in a game shortened to five innings. They followed that sweep with two losses on March 20, 11-8 to College of Dupage and 10-7 to Prairie State College.
The Wolves then swept Kishwaukee College on the road on March 22, 21-1 and 20-4 in two games shortened to five innings. They followed that with a doubleheader sweep at home of South Suburban College, 19-9 and 11-9, on March 26. Both games were again shortened to five innings.
That sweep was followed by a doubleheader loss to Bryant & Stratton College on March 28 by scores of 5-0 and 10-0, the second game shortened to five innings.
A trip to Kankakee Community College on March 30 was next. The Wolves split a doubleheader, losing the first game 11-3 and winning the nightcap 15-7.
The Wolves then traveled to Triton College on April 2 and left with two losses, 10-0 and 5-1. They followed that with a split at Elgin on April 3, winning the first game 4-2 and losing the second 5-3.
The regular season will continue through May 4, with the NCJAA Region IV Tournament set to begin May 14.
